Euphonic Chorus

Model ECH-1 · BBD stereo chorus and vibrato

The story

Not all chorus circuits are alike. Euphonic Chorus includes three different analog BBD chorus circuits modeled from well-loved hardware. Circuit I is a classic rich and warm chorus from a stompbox that dates back to the early 80s. Circuit II is a modern stompbox with an airy stereo chorus and a dynamic depth control that gets deeper the slower the rate. Circuit III is the BBD chorus circuit from the Tape Echo.

All three circuits have access to a suite of controls to craft the sound. Blend between dry and full vibrato. Add drift to the LFO. Change the waveform or select “Random” to make the effect unpredictable.

The advanced function

Expressive Mode adds dynamic control to the effect. Let the input source morph the Depth, Rate, Travel, and Drift settings. Make the initial attack dry and have the chorus fade in as the note decays. Or flip it and have the effect fade as the note decays. Expressive Mode is designed to turn a static effect into something living.

Euphonic Chorus expanded: beside the main panel, Expressive Mode opens with a detect section of threshold, above or below, and response, and four destinations: depth, rate, travel and drift.
