Classic pitch effects have a distinctive sound that works perfectly when the song calls for it and fails miserably when the song doesn’t. Euphonic Pitch Shifter combines the classic effect with extra features to give more control over the less flattering side of the vintage gear.
Raw mode will sound instantly familiar. All the artifacts and character are present and audible. Use it when that sound fits. Shift moves each pitch by semitones. Fine changes the pitch by cents. Offset adds a slight delay to each voice for doubler and chorus-like effects.
Use Natural mode to make shifted notes match the source note in tone. Formant and Auto Formant provide even more ability to tweak the pitched sound and make it stand out or blend in. Glide adds a synth-like voice to pitch changes as the engine ramps up or down. Regen cascades the pitched voices. Damp tames the high frequencies.
The advanced controls offer even more options. The Transient section can have the detector ignore the sound of a guitar pick on strings or the initial hit of a hammer on strings, pitching only the note and not the attack of the instrument. Drive the pitched voices in the Regen loop. Pitch the loop separately from the voices with the Step knob to create beautiful layers. Freeze the Regen loop to create drones.
This plugin is available as a module in the FX Console, where it can be wired to sections of any other effect.
